No it does't on the prototypes and you can see that it doesn't completely cover it in all pic's of the predator, people complained about it being hard on the knee's when riding aggressively. Polaris said they would match it up to the seat and I'm just wonder if they did or not.

My local dealer got 2 Troy Lees today. The plastic does not match and the coolant bottle is in the same place as the pictures in Dirt wheels, also the rear hubs look the same as the front hubs because the holes are there to mount the brake disc. Sorry but I wasn't to impressed. The 2 are still for sale.

I just got back from a leisure break-in ride on the Predator. The only thing I was able to really test is the suspension and I can tell you nobody will be disappointed in the performance of the Fox suspension for being straight from the factory. I got on the throttle hard once at the end of my ride and was impressed with the smooth linear acceleration. No hard hitting power band like on the Banshee. I’ve definitely ridden faster quads (modded Banshees), but never a four stroke this fast. It’s safe to say that only highly modified four strokes are going to beat a Predator. The only other 4 stroke that might give it trouble is the Cannondale Moto. The handling is great and the steering ROCKS!!! Very light!! The brakes have a great feel to them also thanks to the steel lines. It takes much less pressure stop than those on my Honda 400ex. The Pred has a wide stance which makes it more stable, but not too wide that I was tagging things. The front end is as light as my 400ex, but the back end is where you notice the weight.
My dealer received three Predators and one of the guys didn’t care about the break-in period and was drag racing a piped Raptor and Banshee behind the store. The Raptor was about 10 bike lengths behind and the Banshee was 6. One of the guys was an off-duty police officer who brought his radar gun and clocked the Predator at 74 or 76 mph (can’t remember for sure).
To answer a few questions:
The coolant overflow bottle is mounted to the left side of the radiator and there is still a gap in the plastic near the fuel tank. I haven’t had any issues with my pants catching yet so it’s possible Polaris made some subtle changes that smoothed things out a bit. I’ll have to take it to the track where I’ll be shifting from side to side more frequently to say for sure.
The hubs are the same front and rear, (no big deal other than slightly increased rolling weight in the rear hubs due to the brake mounts).
The front suspension does have a clunk to it that can be heard if you quickly pick up the front end. I didn’t notice it while riding through some big whoops but the jumps at the track might make it more noticeable. I’ll find out next week.
Overall, I’m very impressed and would recommend this quad to anybody. We’ll see if it holds up to some abuse in the coming weeks.
Anybody else have first ride impressions?
