Default 500 HO front-end lift

I'd like to level up the front of my Sportsman a little but I don't want to spend a lot of money for a lift kit. I've heard that Polaris makes a heavy duty spring, will those raise it any or just keep it from sagging with weight on the front?

I've also heard about putting Scrambler springs on the HO, but I don't know how much it will raise it. But I do know there only about $20.00 each.

I don't want to raise it a whole lot, maybe an inch or so. I wouldn't want to put a lot of stress on anything.

thanks for any comments!

I believe it is the same spring as the Sportsman 6X6 uses. My brother bought a pair for his because he has a winch on the front end and it drooped.

Call Bert's Dirt Works at 1-866-823-DIRT. He will square you a way with the right parts at a fair price.

Talked to a Polaris dealer and their mechanic today but they weren't much help. They didn't know about any other springs that would work. They told me Polaris has spring spacers, but he didn't have any experience with them. He ordered the spacers so I'll check them out when they come in.

The spring spacers do work according to a Polaris mech. I talked with. I dont personally have any experience with them so I will only pass on what I have heard.....good luck and ride on

So what do they smoke at that Polaris dealership? I purchased the HD springs for the front and rear of my 2K1 500 HO at the Polaris dealer here because my wife and i like to ride 2up. It was plenty more stiff. I turn the back adjustments down low if riding solo as there is no spring left without doing that. I added the lift kit to give me more ground clearance - but the springs had already done most of that. FYI with the wife, me and all the gear on our 500 weighs in at 1400 lbs. Still climbs mountains and sits like a normally loaded 500.

Whatever they were smoking, they must have bought it from the dealer that argued with me that there is 12 oz in a quart when I was buying gearcase fluid the other day.
