Scrambler rear brake warranty anyone???
I dont believe that it is limited to the '02.
Basicly the rear brake only works if you step on the foot brake and squeeze the hand brake. The 4 wheels will not brake as they are suppose to with the one hand lever. If you squeeze the hand brake only,,,just front brakes.
If you use the rear brake alone,,,,,,nothing,,,as the fluid leaks past a seal that seperates the rear brake system,,,and the 4 wheel brake system.

That is just an auxilary brake. It is not a rear brake. When you squeeze the brake handle on the handle bars, it stops front and rear. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it puts 60 percent brake to the front and 40 to the rear. Pushing the auxilary brake evens this out. This is how it was explained to me. If you are looking to lock up the rear using the auxilary, not gonna happen.

Correct!
I understand your point fully.
When I squeeze the hand brake, I get mild front wheel braking only.
At that point if you use the auxilary brake also, the front wheels stop harder and the hand lever get harder. (very little rear)
The system is bled, park brake no longer holds pressure for more than a few seconds.
For the first 6 months the brakes worked great, then this.

It is possible to lock the rear wheels with the foot brake.I bled mine last nite and went for a spin and I've done it before.Great for sliding around corners etc. But for some reason the rears need bled way too often to do this.Open the valve[the lower bleeder valve on the rear caliper],pump the pedal a few times with the valve open, depress the pedal again and hold down while shutting the bleeder valve.Make sure your res. is full before you start.I've had to do this a couple times but it is worth it to have good rear brakes.

I'm sorry Bing, I didn't mean to say that it wouldn't ever lock up the back. But they are just not for using like actually having a rear brake. I bought a Mightvac which helped bleed the rear immensely. Just got tired of doing it. I got used to not using it, and never really missed it.
Hope that explains my point better.
