Torn CV Boot Repaired
#1
I recently replaced the left CV boot on my Scrambler with a Gorilla axle boot after the original came up with a 1/4" long slit. The other day I noticed some grease on the right CV boot. Once again another very clean cut, only about 1/8" long. With the threat of another $50 escaping my wallet, I thought of a repair. I cleaned the tear real well and used superglue to prevent more grease from coming out before the repair was done. I then cut a narrow piece of rubber out of a tire patch and repaired the boot just like patching a tire. It worked very well and seems to be sealed. I'll give it a good run over the next few weeks and let you know how it works. I hate to replace a boot with only a pin hole in it!
