Aftermarket handle bars
#1
Anybody know if there is an aftermarket handlebar made for a Polaris Sportsman/Xplorer (1999)? This unit has a headlight pod so there can't be a middle crossbar, but that's all I know. If anyone has a make/part number for one that works please let me know. I'm looking for a strong one. I see htat a stock one is about $45 on Partsland - but are there other choices?

DaveRuane,
You could probaly check www.denniskirk.com. I belive pro-taper and possibly renthal make a 7/8 bar with no cross bar, and moose may also make one. These aluminum handlebars may cost around$70, more than your stock bars, but you will note an ease in turning and they will take away some of the roughness in rough terrain. Just make sure that it's a 7/8" bar, because I'm sure a fat bar (can't remember what size they are, but they are bigger than 7/8) becuase it wont fit throught the plastic on your headlight unless you drill it out, and you would most likely need a different bar clamp in that scenario also. Hope this helps.
