Anyone else out there running the HOT SEAT 700 SPEED KIT?????If so what is your opinion of this kit.My dealer called me last week and told me there was and update on this kit from hot seat.We changed main jet from the original 205 to a 175 main jet, dropped the needle 1slot and adjusted the air screw to one and three quarters turn.will try this set up out next weekend.

Default 700 SPEED KIT

may i ask, are you just installing the kit, or have you had the speed kit on for a while?.
are you running the 205 jet with air box mods ? or are you changeing the (162.5/155 factory jetting) main to the 205? what is the 700 doing to warrant changing (dropping )to a 175 jet?

i have a 700 speed kit with some head mods. i run the 205 setup but haven't tinkered with the needle settings . mine is a lil flat in the upper lowend thru the midrange. but the plugs looked good.
it's not to bad but theres room for improvement .I'm thinking about raising the needle 1 notch.
i am very pleased with my addition, i elected not to use thier clutch kit (found somthing a lot better) the guys at HSP were good at helping me get jetted. I may change carbs soon , but not sure going to give this a chance right now. i gained aprox 3/4 - 1 sec. in the mudraces(200ft clay pit wet down with a fire hose)run stock 6.3 sec. with the speed kit its now down to the low 5 sec. range. could problay do better if i could use low , tracks just 50 feet to long. I also compete in atv sled pulls.

Default 700 SPEED KIT

#33 I have been using the speed kit for about seven months. (tuned header, silencer,k&n filter,205 main jet, high flow intake and clutch kit)My dealer sells HOT SEAT PARTS so they wanted me to try the new setup recommended by Hot Seat to see if it helps. With the speed kit installed I can smoke my brothers stock 700.I am not to pleased with their clutch kit so i may go back to my EPI sport utility clutch kit. Also I have had a lot of problems with the silencer comming apart. The header broke which hot seat repaired but that darn silencer just will not stay together.(screws keep coming out after a couple days of riding)I now have 1755 miles on my 700..

you say the header broke and the silencer came apart. dang thats not good. i haven't really rode mine very much , added the speed kit at 90 miles got a whopping 250 on her now. will be 1 in march.
don't have a lot of time to ride, drive a tractor trailer as a hobby.(lol)
how did you combat the heat the header generated? i wrapped mine in header wrap, really helped but man what a pain in the ars. i also run the intake mod . what altitude do you ride? what needle postion did you run w/ the 205? i'm getting ready to tinker with mine this weekend not sure wich way to go? think i need to raise the needle but not to sure.

MT as far as action photos ,i'm not very puter savy. took me a long time to breakdown a buy a puter.
i'm more of a fix-it person give me a monkey wrench,a impact wrench and a few sockets , and i'll tear it down and put it back together, no garantee on replacing all parts but it will run (i think). puters are to techinical, and to delicate. I'll have to wait till my friend a(MCSE)comes down to give the puter a tune up soon. he'll show the in's and out's of posting photos. maybe get my web page going since my isp has space for me with my account.

I was running the stock setting on my needle with the 205 main jet.Dropped it one with the 175 main.I tryed the header wrap.Took me longer to put the dang stuff on than it lasted.I am now in the process of getting the header ceramic coated.Suposed to reduce the heat and 3 percent increase in power.

i installed the header-wrap on the machine after the pipe and silencer cured.
yes, the wrap was a booger to put on!! i haven't had any probs yet , it really helped with the heat coming out from the header.
let me know how the ceramic coating works, may consider if it really works well.
i have heard rumors about changing rocker arms and changing the cam, have you? i think it would work, just need to figure out which and what kind.
