Warn 3000lb. Winch
#1
Wondering if anyone has one of these, and if so do you have a bumper that has a mount for the winch fairlead thart is off set. The reason I ask is that in looking at this winch it looks like the winch fairlead needs to be more in the middle so I am wondering if it would work wit having the fairlead off to the one side like the mount is on the bumper.

I have this winch, do a search of my screenname for posts over the past few weeks relating to mounting this winch on a SP600........
The mounting kit that Polaris sells for the SP600 has the fairlead offset like you mentioned. It actually comes in two pieces, one that goes over the top of the winch, and another that comes up below the winch. Both of them bolt together in front of the winch. You can redrill the mounting holes on the fairlead mount that comes up below the winch to have it centered instead of offset. The piece that comes up over the top of the winch cannot be modified from an offset to center cable.
I was a little concerned about only using the bottom part of the fairlead mount, figuring that they had the two pieces bolted together for extra strength. I was able to use the winch quite a bit this weekend to pull a number of large trees that I was cutting down in the direction that I wanted them to go. I had the winch maxed out putting pressure on the trees, and the fairlead didn't bend on me. Granted, I lined up the winch as straight on as I could, but there was upward and downward pressure on the fairlead, and it held up fine for me.
Oops, I just read your signature and noticed you're running a 500HO. I assume the bumper that you are talking of is the add-on tube bumper or something. If that's the case, I guess I can't help you.
