how smooth is the scrambler 500??
It is too ride for the trails
what is ORV??
Thanks, that question was bugging me, because i'm always worried about being in hi when i'm going too slow.
I noticed you have 489 XT tires on your scram, i was just saying that i would put them on one if i got one to my brother, with aluminum wheels. How do you like them?

I meant that it isnt too wide for the trails. My typing can get kinda sloppy at times. ORV is Off Road Vehical trail. They are trails made specifically for atv's and dirt bikes and snowmobiles. I like to ride tose the most because it is the most challenging to me. They have a mixture of rock crawling, MUD(me like) hills, and sand. You have to be constantly paying attention because of the sharp rocks ready yo tear your tires and stump and branches the snag you up. I am usually going under 10mph on these trails and like I have said Ithe scrambler has handled it with ease, like it was mad for this stuff. As for the 489XT's, I had to get those becaus I blew out my front tires(long story). I likes the way the the 489AT rode and that it got good traction in whatever I rode on. The 489XT was the same price as the 489AT. So I decided to replace all 4. The XT is a 6 ply, which made it a pain in the A$$ getting it on the rim. But it gets great traction and is super strong. It does ride a little rougher than the AT because of the stiffer sidewall, But with more aggressive tread, I think I made the right choice. I am very impressed with them. If you have any other questions feel free to ask away, I am happy to help you in anyway I can

ORV, i ride a lot on them too. They are snowmobile trails in the winter, then become ATV trail for us in the spring, summer, and fall. I too like them better, because like you said they provide a challenge. The open gravel roads put me to sleep after about five minutes.
I know what you mean about the rougher ride, the 6ply gators were a little rough compared to the dunflops, but i let them down to 4psi, and they're not too bad now.
If you want to see the pic that caught my eye click here it's just soaked in armourall i think!!

WOW, that sucker looks brand new. It you like riding the ORV trails them the scrambler is perfect. I think you would be happy with it. The 500HO has plenty of low end grunt for pulling you up thoses hills and through the mud. I have to find out how to post pictures. I dont have and updated pictures of my scram CLEAN, just muddy. I cant say enough for it. I wouldnt trade it for anything, except maybe another one.

I have a 2002 and it's been great. Make sure the rear shock is adjusted for your weight. I'm 225 so I had to crank up the loading on the spring, that helped a lot. Other than that, grease it regularly. I've ridden as much as 40 miles pretty aggresively and had used maybe 2.5 - 3 gallons. It does everything well. Only problem was an inner hub seal, 13.00 and 1 hour to replace. Buy it!

How the scrambler work in snow? Just thought of that know, since there's about a foot and a half of the white stuff down. Some drifts are 4feet deep!! Very fun to blow through! I was just wondering with 22" rear, and 23" front tires, will the scrambler just sit there and spin the tires??
