In all you Scrambler riders opinions...How high and how hard can one jump his Scrambler without putting too much stress on the machine and it's components?

I have a 99 sc 400. Im 6foot2 and 250lbs. I have jumped at a local track a 4 foot high jump and landed 7 feet later and landed so hard I bent the bottem bolt of the shock, many and many times and never broke anything. (knock on wood)I wouldent recommend doing this. My rims are a little bent up also

I have honestly gotten about 8 feet of air on my trailblazer. I have a video too! but i don't have the card to upload the video.

I have picture of me jumping but my cat jumped up on my scanner knocked it on the floor and it no longer comes on.

Well, I figure you should be able to do a bit better on a long legged Scrambler then on my Blazer. I have got some very good air on my Blazer and have had no problems with it. Your Scrambler has better shocks, and longer travel, so I would assume some pretty good stuff with it. I have a few pictures of me jumping at my site.

I have a 96 Sportsman 400 that I jump at my friends mx track. We get some serious air. I come down with a big thud sometimes but the quad is holding up great. I had to replace the rear shock as I snaped it in half. I replaced it with a fox shock and got Stiffer springs all the way around. Some of the jumps are 4' high. So I wish I had a scrambler so I could hit these faster, harder, and come down softer.

Jump as high as you wish until you bottom out the suspension. A little higher than that & stuff flexes but comes back to original shape. A little higher yet, things flex & dont come back to original shape. A little higher than that, things snap & break. Dont forget about fatigue failure, so a big flex a whole bunch of time cause cracks if beyond the stress limit of the steel, so I wouldn't jump higher than the suspension can safely soak up. In my case it's about 4 feet high. Mine is widened, lowered & droped 50+ lbs & no problems yet. I plan on riding allot at the MX practice tracks this comming year too. It's so much fun. Just practice though no racing. I'm going to be trying out the new suspension thats comming out so maybe I'll be catching major air, probably not but I would like to be able to safely jump higher than 4' eventually w/o bottoming out.

I've been jumping doubles and table tops since I bought my quad. I also have video but haven't had the resources to post it on the web. I've been mounting my Sony Digital Cam on the front of the quad via fabricated aluminum brackets and mount plate. Before the cam was on my head but that was a pain in the A$$. I guess you could get pretty crazy before you would break something. My quad is new but I was thinking about putting fox in the front or maybe some works that are supposedly new and have 9 inches of travel.

It all depends on your downslope and if you are jumping doubles or just onto flat ground. I have some pictures of me(on my '99 scrambler 500)and a buddie(on a '99 warrior) getting pretty nice air at a local kids backyard track. You can check them out at my web site at www.geocities.com/otherjay . To see the bigger jumps go to the link titled "Lyons,Ohio" . would like to know if anybody has jumped a scrambler bigger than this and would issue a challenge to prove it(pictures). If anybody wants to send me pictures(e-mail)I would love to see them or you could post a link here.
