Contemplating New Purchases: 600 Twin/ 330 Trailboss
I'm contemplating a new 600 Twin for myself and a 330 Trail Boss for my wife to replace our stolen Honda's. I've read that the Trail Boss does not have engine breaking. My wife is not an aggressive rider and I think that EBS would be a good feature. Should I be looking at the Magnum instead? She had a Recon and really liked the handling of the smaller bike. Also on the 600 I see that it does not have a recoil backup for starting. I needed that feature more times than I wanted on my Foreman. Anyone having trouble with the batteries going down after extended periods of non-use on the 600? From what my research shows both the 600 and the Trail Boss are highly regarded. Any thoughts and advice are greatly appreciated.

i think that the trailboss will be perfect for your wife. contrary to what youve heard, the T-Boss DoeS have engine breaking. it works very well by the way. As for the battery issue, ive let mine sit for a month and a half at the dealor waiting on a new steering stem, and it fired right up. but if it is low when you try to start it, dont go anywhere without charging the battery first. if the battery goes dead, you cant start it. good luck!

I have been going through the same delemma you are going through. I have always had Honda ATVs but I liked the Polaris 700 twin (and the 600) when I test drove them. After doing a lot of research and reading this forum from one end to the other I went ahead Saturday and bought the 2003 700 twin (Mossy Oak). So far I really like this machine, I rode it about 35 miles this week end and some of the stuff I went through and over really impressed me. I was also concerned about not having a backup recoil start, but I'll just have to worry about that if and when it fails to start, like the guy said carry some jumper cables. I rode the 600 and the 700 and could barely tell any difference in power, I chose the 700 because I wanted the Mossy Oak (not available on the 600 yet). Just my opinion, both the 600 and 700 weigh 740 lbs, so I would prefer to have the largest engine, but the 700 does cost about $500 more. Of all the machines I test drove, the 700 is the most powerful and smoothest riding. With the engine braking feature, I seldom even needed the wheel brakes especially in low range. I don't know anything about the other model you are talking about.
