guess im just a typical atv nut....my girlfriend thinks so anyway. ive posted in suzuki and got some great responses so here goes. i have an 00 rancher im keeping and plan to buy another 4by. i just about had myself talked into a vinson 500 auto but when i went to one of my many dealers i frequent today, i found i could get an 03 sportsman 500HO for 6200 out-the-door but the vinson would cost me 6400 out-the-door. i originally wanted the vinson for the swingarm and sporty ride but i know the sportsman would be a cushier ride.
i guess what i want to know now is 1.) how is the power on the 500HO? 2.) the polaris on-command 4x4 works good, right? 3.) im sure polaris has risen up in the reliability department......
any input would be great

We as a family own four Sportsmans and they all have been top-notch machines (1999 - 2002). The 4X4 system is unbeatable as is the ground clearance of the independant rear suspension.I have ridden them all and have bought 2 Sp 500s (totaled my first one). Great power, ride and off road performance. The Sportsmans are easy to ride and very comfortable. I highly recomend this machine.

I will be buying a Sportsman 600 this spring and giving my wife my 500.
