Default PREDATOR: Serious Questions (problems)

FTZLT-250R

Yes I will be racing the predator. That if I buy one?

Are you running a FTZ engine in your LT? FTZ makes a sweet 400 Monster Moter for a TRX 250R. A budy of mine was going to buy one for his R but the guys at FTZ told him it's to hard to hang on to for MX racing, so he bought a 350pv engine.

Default PREDATOR: Serious Questions (problems)

Quad999, it has everything that FTZ offers for the LT. I am going to attempt to flat track race it this year.

If you look, I actually asked if you were MX racing your R. I just wouldn't think that anyone used to racing an R would go to a 400 plus pound 4 stroke. We wieghed one at the Tulsa Shootout. It was 417 pounds with the much lighter flat track tires, nerf bars, and a sway bar. All of the 250r's were right around 320 or so. A Cannondale was 372 and a 400EX was 382. Maybe with proper set up, it won't feel like a 400 pound quad......

Default PREDATOR: Serious Questions (problems)

No MX racing here. But here are the problems that Ive had with mine.

I had to tighten the plastic bolts after my first ride. Havent had a prob since.
Chain rattles. Rattling is slowing disappearing.
Loose coolant hoses. Tighten them after the first ride. Havent had a problem since.
Sticking rear brake. The rear axle rolls free now.
Notchy shiftying. The more hours I put on the machine, the more it loosens up. Its smoothing out nicely.
The shift lever is too far up. Havent adjusted it.
The steering stem is too short. "I" need a longer one.
Maxis are good tires, but are they HEAVY!! Im gonna slap my stock 400EX tires in it soon.

Last but not least......I need more time to ride it.

Oh, one last thing. I havent hit the rev limiter on mine yet. FYI, the rev limiter kicks in at 9005 RPM's.
