synthetic oil

Default synthetic oil

I have a sp700 and im thinking of useing synthetic oil in the gearcase I just wanted to know if any of you guys use it....and I dont have the manual on the bike Ive always had the oil changed at the shop.Can someone look at there manual and tell me how much oil this thing takes....thanks

I'm assuming that you are refering to the transmission gear case and not the front/rear diff. gear case! In my manual, '03 Sp600, it says to fill it to 1 5/8" from the top of the fill plug hole. It does not mention the capacity of the gear case. Hope this helps....... MJSTX

thanks and yes im talking about the tranmission I should have but that in the post....Anyones thoughts on synthetic oil?????

Default synthetic oil

Polaris Gear Case Oil has Molybdenum in it. (I hope that is the correct spelling). I have seen a Polaris Mech. on different boards say this is one fluid NOT to change from. It's something to do with the chain inside the tranny. Suposedly there is a fluid at farm supply stroes that is the same thing but just as expensive.
