SP 700 cuts out, sup?
I posted in some other forums but haven't received an answer yet so lets try here! At low rpm when I give some throttle to take off it sputters and dies out almost to a point that it might quit. At medium or full throttle it runs great. This was after about 20 miles in 70 degree temp on my 03 SP 700 with 300 miles. On a suggestion I did this today:
Ok I took my air cleaner off, held my hand over the opening, cranked her over and the back boot collapsed but not the one in front of the carb, does that mean that the boot is bad? Also when I took my hand off after cranking, about 1/2 a cup of gas ran out into the air cleaner box so I started it for a few seconds and every time I reved it a bit, it spewed gas into the box, is this normal?
I assume that its either the intake boot or drilling out the brass plug on the carb to adjust that screw? My 03 was built in July 02 and had the old water pump cover so it probably had the old style boot too. Any ideas? Thanks.
