Raptor beats Predator by 2/100th's of a second???
not bad for the Predator I guess.... but I thought the Predator had like 6 or 7 more rwhp??? and only 15lb.s heavier....
it should have whooped the Raptor... especially according to Polaris' website speed chart / graph
what do you guys think about this test?
sorry.... it's a shootout in the newest ATV SPORT mag

The only time that I heard of a stock Raptor beating a Predator in a drag is from the mag's. But I've heard of many Predator's beating STOCK Raptors from people on this forum plus others. So it's hard to say, do I take the mag's word, who get money from the manufator's, or do I take it from real life people in every day riding word of it.

RaptorRider, you will have to show me in the Yamaha forum where a stock Raptor beat a Predator, can't seem to find one. The ones I do find are ones with a pipe and jet ket, not stock. The only one that I remember is when 14mins said a stock Raptor beat a piped Predator, but the Predator wasn't re-jetted. I haven't seen a bike yet where you can through a pipe on it without re-jetting and gain performance. You lose it, not gain it. Other then that, I haven't seen any, but again, I'm not in the Yamaha forum much.

GE - read my post about how to screw up the performance by messing with the carb. I didn't believe the instructions that came with my W/B and spent over half a day dialing the carb back to stock to make it run right!
As far as outrunning a Raptor,,,, first, I never raced a Raptor when my gearing was stock, but I did race a very good running 01 shee that had only a new air filter setup and no airbox lid (rejetted to match). We raced a short drag of about 80 yards - Predator by 1 to 11/2 bikes, 3 different riders on each with the same results. Then we went down a paved county road for almost a mile, the Predator top end was 2 to 3 mph faster and I could pass him almost at will. I said all that to say this, I read the issue of Dirt Rag that had the test of the Raptor vs. the Shee, they have the Shee faster and quicker.
Sunday, I took the Predator to Little Sahara. After fixing my screwing around with the carb it was time for a little racing. With the gearing change and the Sand Skates on the back I did not lose to another 4 stroke. I'll just leave it at that.............................................. ............
