Default engine ice

Well i just put some engine ice coolant in my scrambler 500 and i took the water pump off and broke the gasket and put a new one in so all the old coolant is out and i filled it up all they way and i was running it today just for alittle while going slow for awhile then speeding up alittle and my fan kicked on i wouldnt think it would because i didnt run it very hard but i was going pretty slow for awhile. I heard it was pretty good coolant 2. And my engine is rattling alot is that normal for a scrambler i have a whitebrothers pipe it might make it shake more

i used to run engine ice it made my fan run twice as much as normal so i drained it and now i run the orange dexcool antifreeze and it works great. and i change my oil when it starts to get dark colored.

The manual calls for an oil change every 100 hours, 1000 miles, or every six months, which ever comes first. Recommended oil is Polaris Premium 4 All Season Synthetic, 0W/40 available at your dealer.

I personally have always used the Polaris stuff. Always have, always will.

Just a comment on "Engine Ice",riderrideshard mentioned that his fan ran twice as much as before. It is my thought that Engine Ice is designed to take heat away from the engine better than ordinary antifreeze. This being the case the extra heat must be dissipated through the radiator that's why the fan comes on more often.
Like I said, just my thoughts.

Engine ice, purple ice, water wetter, etc are designed to decrease the surface tention of water thereby allowing heat to be transfered more effectively by the radiator. The ideal situation is about 15% antifreeze, distilled water, and the correct amount of additive. Of course if you live up north you need more coolant than that. The small inline finned cooler also works well. In the heated months you cant keep it too cool.Bubba

Maybe the two strokes with the cool head run alot cooler,I've been running the engine ice for over a year on a race mod with absolutely no problems, and that's with the fan removed.Sorry to hear about the problems.Later.
