Default 425 magnum stuck in forward gear

I have a 95 polaris magnum 425.. It is stuck in forward gear and I can not shift it to neutral even with the engine off. Any suggestions. I have been hearing a low clicking sound lately.

Default 425 magnum stuck in forward gear

I had the same problem when plowing with my SP335 a couple weeks after the warrenty was over. Worst part is it was stuck in the snow. When I got it out and to the garage I diconnected the shift rods and moved them around. Then I started to take the shift er box apart till I saw the springs and things inside and decided there was no way I was dealing with all that without a manual. When I put it back together it worked again. Never had the problem since.

Hope I was some help.

Take the lid off of the shifter and clean the gunk out of it and put in new oil.I bet it has been out of shifter oil for awhile.Use a 10w40 oil.

Its the black box that the shifterr handle is attached to.Just take the screws out lift the shifter out and there should be about half full of oil(any motor oiil)whatch out for the springs.
