Default Question for Sportsman Owners

In 2001 I bought 325 Mag 4x4 and in 2002 I traded it in on a 2003 Arctic Cat 500 MRP with Independent rear Susp and I find when I hit the brakes hard the front end dives really bad ..actually I flew off the front and the ATV landed on me ..the ATV dives so far the backend comes up and over ..I was only going 20mph at the most.I had to avoid another ATV..So my gues is do the Sportsmans dive like that also???

Default Question for Sportsman Owners

NO. My dad owned the 335 for a while and you could slam on the brakes hard without to much of a problem. He now has the 500 H.O. and it is the same way, just a little heavier. However I havn't had a chance to ride an AC but I don't think that they should do that either. I know my scrambler is pretty forgiving when i need to slam on the brakes.

Default Question for Sportsman Owners

My 03 AC 500 dives when you are going down the road ,say 45 mph and you let the throttle off it dives a least 4 inches ..Does the SP 600 or 700 do this because of the IRS????

500mrpman I haven't had mine to do that. The front shocks (struts) are real tuff.

No not at all. The front suspension is even tighter/better than the SP500 after riding at high speeds and hitting some really nasty holes/bumps/jumps I have still not seen the bottom. Another big improvement on the SP600 vs the SP500.

Brother in law has a Sportsman 500. You can tell the nose dips when you hit the brakes, but that is about it.
