Conformation ON THE NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE MACHINE

The polaris service rep told me this and I believe it: He said that Polaris was working on a 600 4-stroke for the Sportsman, but weren't going to go ahead with it unless the Rubicon was a real success and started to hurt sales of the Sportsman 500. He said nothing of any 700+cc engines.

I think were back where we started. We dont have a
clue, what polaris is going to come out with. My dealer(the manager), dont know. He expects to see somthing around the end of july. If Jamie is not talking then its still a secret since he works at the factory. that would mean he has seen it already and we have not and no one said, go out and tell everybody or he would let us know.
So just enjoy your machine and let me be first in line to buy a 2001, polaris xpedition 500 cc 5-speed. (JUST KIDDING)! RANGERCHET

Chris,
You are all over the place with that reply.
First of all, Who the heck said anything about a V-twin motor??
Secondly, Do you not check out the Polaris web site??
If you did you would see that Polaris now makes the cleanest and quietest 2 strokes in the world.
Their new FICHT Fuel injection system and PLANET quieting sytem has been approved by the EPA and the SIERRA club to be the only PWC that can be operated on lake Tahoe. And it is clean enough to already meet the EPA emmision requirements for the year 2006!
Third,The current twin 2 stroke 750 that is in their PWC's could be easily adapted to a PVT system. Take off the flywheel and add a belt drive!
And of course we all have a friend who has a brother who's cousins brothers mother knows someone that has heard of a guy that works in R&D for the XYZ company and knows that will never happen!!
Take it light.

First we must realize that a 750cc twin two-stroke would be way to powerfull for a quad unless it was way undertuned. i would think a the whole power train would have to be beefed up substantially. the current sp500 has 32bhp and 18 rwhp if a 750two stroke were put in the power difference would be huge. i think a a inline twin 700cc four-stroke would be more realastic. especially sience a four-stroke has more low-end torque.
we also must remember that the people that work at polaris (aka. reps and engineers) are sworn to secrecy, if they tell the truth they work elesware. so they are just telling stories now to keep us all excited

Well, my monkey's uncle's sister's dealer says that Polaris is coming out with a 1098cc 2 stroke and they're gonna bring back the atc 250R frame and stuff it in it... put a 13in. swing arm and twin paul turner pipes on it... wiseco piston.. cam.. jet kit... make team alba look puny... come on guys, you gotta admit.. this is bout as realistic as some of this other stuff.. For me, until Polaris has made this 1000cc atv, I'm gonna stick with my Sportsman and 400ex... hey, did anybody check that Bombardier out??? the traxter don't look too bad for 2000, it's the most advanced stock atv I've ever seen!!!!!!!! But, hey, maybe polaris will come out with about 8 new quads.. a 700 twin, 700 V-twin, 700 V-twin 2 stroke, and maybe even my new quad!!! But until then, I'll be hopefully doubting it!! No hard feelings anyone, I want it just as bad as you all do.. just be real about it!

1999 FMF Honda 400EX, fmf pipe, silencer, spark arrestor, FMF graphics, CEET COVER, DG nerfs and bumper, 1998 Polaris Sportsman, gun rack, 1996 Polaris Express 300, Gun rack, DIRT DEVILS, Rear Rack extender...Maybe the 2001 Polaris Screamer 1098cc 2 stroke!!!!

It definitely will not be a twin cylinder, unless in fact it is a v-twin. The conventional side by side cylinder twins would be way too wide for the PVT transmission setup, I mean most people feel it is on the verge of being too wide now. On another note, don't expect a utility quad or even a sport quad with anywhere near 85hp, thats plain ridiculous! My moneys on a larger displacment motor in the 700cc range for the sp500, and single cylinder at that. 35-38hp max.
