SP 700 won't idle
#11
It sounds like the pilot jet may be plugged. You have to take the bottom off the carb to get at it but it isn't to bad of a job.
Remove the side pannel on the mag side. Take the carb support bracket off. It has four screws, loosen the clamps on the carb and twist it so you can get at the float bowl. There are four phillips screws on the bowl that have to be removed, then remove the bowl. the pilot jet takes a very small straight screwdriver and is in front of the mainjet.
It should be a #42.5 pilot in it. Either replace it or make sure it is clean. Either way it is a good idea to make sure the carb is clean after it has been under water.
Good luck.
