Hi>I was out riding tonight and all was well untill...my atv stalled I restarted it and noticed that it sounded rough but I was close to home so I tried to creep along but it would stall within 5 seconds it was dark but it appeared that oil was leaking from the front end (could not see where for sure). I think it might be from the rad is this possible? is thet what oil cooled means ? What could cause this.? Is there a hose that could have come loose? I will look at it first light tommorow and try to see exactly what the problem is. How does an oil cooler work? is it the same oil supply the engin uses?
Any info will help

I have 2-2001 Trailboss 325's one has the spring clamps for the radiator cooler lines and the other one came with worm gear clamps. The one with worm gear clamps leaked kind of the way yours sounds, hopefully you didn’t loose all the oil in the engine. I replaced mine with the spring type now it is OK. Sounds like Polaris ran out of the good clamps in production and went to the hardware store and picked up the cheap clamps to keep the line running!

I just came back from buying more oil. I had a very hard time finding a 0w-40 oil. When I finally put the oil in the bike it started and all was oh BUT there was A TAPPING SOUND. I let it run a while but tapping didnot go away. Drove down the driveway tapping gets louder with increased rpm's. IS the oil not feeding to the RAD OR IS there somthing wrong with the engin ??? DO I have to prime the line to get it to feed to the RAD????????

PINKMOON,
Sorry to hear about your engine, hope they fix it under warranty, I think they should. The same thing could have happened to me but the line didn't blow off it just leaked bad. Were the clamps on the hoses the worm gear type or the spring type?
I think you should be straight up with the dealer on what happened and what time of day it was. When they pull the engine apart they will know it was starved of oil and then they will want to know what happened. Just my opinion.
