96 425 magnum 4x4 four wheel drive not engaging

Check the wires that come out of the shifter box. The wires that come out to indicate hi & low should go to the same place, and the one that indicates reverse should go through the rev limiter. I almost wonder if you have the high and reverse wires turned around. That is why I suggested trying high range with the override button held in. If you get 4wd with the override button in, that will be the problem.

Heres my question on polaris AWD. I own a 2002 scrambler 500 and i can not get my front hubs to engage. I have the 12 volts D/C hitting the magnetic coil and the armature plate is getting magnetized, but how strong should the magnetizim be (i can move the armature plate by hand under magnetizm) and the cages, springs, rolers, and cams all look to be in good shape. Any feed back on this would very appriciated.

sounds like your switch inside your shifter is not reinstalled correctly... sounds like the switch is on its side ( inside your shifter) these switches suck, use longer screws to compress the cap until your stock screws can be threaded in then remove the longer screws
