How fast does your Polaris go...?
#21
My '00 SP500 will do about 52-54 mph and my Scrambler will go about 62-65 mph. I am interested in putting some mods on my scrambler to make it accelerate faster and maybe a little faster top speed. I am just waiting on more money. Any help would be appreciated.

Ran my trailblazer on my speed chek radar last night, Hit 50mph pretty much laying on the tank, two other passes with a little shorter run hit 48mph both times. This was on Tar and Chip type pavement and it was about 50 F. My machine seems to lose a lot of power on hot days.

On a lighter note, but still close to the subject.
My 99 Arctic Cat 500 will top out at 50. This was measured by running about 6 trial runs on flat pavement guaging it by following it in a 2000 Silverado Z71 Ext. Cab. I was driving the truck so I could make sure and get an accurate reading, and not a figure that would be too high (I'm pessimistic and hate lying about top speed). On these trials, the speedometer on the quad was showing 54 at the fastest points.
The AC speedometer lies, at least on my quad, but I figure that the speedometer on a $30,000 truck would be a bit more accurate. We had plenty of open road to test this, and I would let the AC get maxed out and then settle the truck in about ten yards behind it so I knew that I had matched speeds, and then I would hang there and watch the speedometer. It teetered between 49 and 50, touching 51 every now and then. Thats as accurate as I can get without being arrested.

atving, how long, meaning time wise does it take you to get up to that speed. I think I maybe havent had a long enough straight road to wind the sP out enough. Not alot of flat ground around here in the Canadian shield.
