I changed the oil on my Sportsman 600 tonight and am wondering if there should be a gasket on the oil drain plug?? Thanks

 

Yes there is supposed to be a gasket according to the manual. Is the drain plug an allen wrench type, I am having a hard time matching up the pic in the manual to my ATV. I see something in the dead center of the bike which looks like where the drain plug is but I have never seen an allen type drain plug.

 

Yes its the "allen" type plug. As far as the gasket...its a copper washer. I dropped mine somewhere and couldnt find it so I just wraped the threads with teflon tape. No runs no drips no errors.
