Just wondering how many others are useing a clutch kit? I have a HEELCLICKER installed best thing I ever done to my 02 700, the performance is out of this world. I can ride all day in HIGH where before was havein to use LOW allot. What are your experiences with them and your thoughts?

ANYONE have a clutch kit?
I have all of my clutching by Aaen performance. I am very happy with It. I have to voice my opinion here and will prob. get alot of debate, but here goes. I just do not think the Heelclicker kit Is all that It is made out to be. I've never used one and I have heard good about them, but IMO I think that the money for this kit Is outrageous. You are buying these special weights and a couple of springs here, just seems like too much cash for that. I can't wait until the new Comet clutch comes out, granted it costs more, but you are getting a complete clutch (well it is empty) but, you are getting a whole clutch that has been shown to give a big (i think 25%) increase in efficiency. Now that Is something to spend your clutch dollars on. And I also don't like the fact that the Heelclicker Is not made for each specific machine, It appears to me that the Engineers over at Heelclicker left all the hard work determining what goes best for what machine up to the purchaser of the product. That seems lazy to me and is only my opinion. I agree more performance can probably be gained with it, but I just don't see the price. With the new Comet coming out, they have been in snowmobiling for a long time and they really know the clutch business and that Is why they are offering a whole new clutch, not just a few parts. These are just my thoughts and I hope no one is offended.

It would be pretty bore'n if we all agreed on every thing, would only need one type of every thing. Ok I am a real believer in the HEELCLICKER and will be till I find something better. I'm like you I can't say anything bad about AAEN as I haven't used one. But have seen a couple guys just lately that took them out and replaced with HEELCLICKER, an are much happier, just passing along what I read. If adding some screws and washer to the weights are hard work so be it, but that was what made me lean toward it, I can adjust it to my ride'n style not someone elses. Heelclicker duz give set-up's that they have found to work for each machine, then you can either use that or p[lay with it, what ever trips your trigger. After several test runs I found that what they suggested worked best for me. If you play you pay, if you pay less and get less and are happy thats what it's all about, I felt for $150 I got my money's worth. There was alot of engineering that went into the developement of these, that is what you are paying for also. I wanted the best bang for the buck and so far that is exactly what I got. I see the new COMET coming, also HC has a new secondary coming, I will be testing it when it comes out, hopefully by the end of the month. I know for a fact that POLARIS has been in on the testing of the HC-x also. yes COMET is a respected name in clutches been around for quite a while. But the POLARIS SNOWMOBILE race team all use HEELCLICKER that says something to me, also POLARIS is manufactoring new clutches so that HEELCLICKER is a straight bolt on, they have that much faith in them. Way it is right now because of mold seam you have to do a small amount of filein to get weights to shift out, we are talking about 10,000's no real biggie. I find something that works I like to talk about it. I now ride all day in HIGH gear where before I'd have to use low many times during the ride, EBS works better. Belt slip is thing of the past, engaement is way better, run times are way better quite an improvement over stock. 0-40 in a little over 6 seconds, that is at 5000ft altitude. COB

For a 4x4 application I can see where that would be very helpful. I would assume they are basically moving the bulk of the weight towards the tip of the clutch weights thus making for a heavier engagement with less slippage, but also maintaining total correct weight for correct RPM operation. I can really only see that doing the best on the 4x4 applications. Quadfather, I know you are highly respected on the ATV nation forum. I never really thought much about those. For first, like NC said, it was the price. And for me the tuning is not as critical on the race modded bikes. As long as it engages at over 4200RPMs and turns 7800-7900 on top, that's good enough for me. I also have to run the 10 series weights to keep the front end on the ground until it gets a little speed up. If I put a S series weight even in that thing it would look at the sky constantly.I just build all my own clutch kits, but for the 4x4 I would say that the heelclicker could be a very great thing.Bubba

I know you are a real believer in Heelclicker Cob. I am also a member of ATVNATION! I can agree somewhat on what you say about adjusting to your own style of riding, but I also believe that those that have been there before and done It many times are able to give me what I want performance wise, just by telling them. I do not have all the testing equipment nor the various quads to test every single thing that I can possibly change in my clutches, that Is where their expertise comes in and why I would give them the money for that testing and knowledge. I understand that they have tested this stuff alot, but I feel there Is something more, left to be desired. Just plain costs too much, also I have an older quad so for me to use it, like many others, I would have to buy a new clutch cover. That would be another $70 or so added to the $150 already spent, not to mention I may have to grind away at my BALANCED clutch! Granted It Is not much, but not my cup of tea. I also agree with Bubba that maybe It is better for most 4x4's, and maybe I should have made It clear in my first posting but, my Scrambler is a 4x4. I do not feel It is a true work horse 4x4 because of no low range, which I am happy without because I like the speed. Now when I need 4x4 It is there to get me un-stuck, but I rarely use It. So maybe my thinking is just for my particular application, but I am just voicing my opinion. I also want to say while on the subject, don't get mad Cob, but I am truly sick of hearing about the Heelclicker clutch, I mean I know everything has It's big time, but I cannot go to ATVNATION anymore without reading every other post as being about the Heelclicker. I am glad so many people are that excited about this product and I understand you are just as excited and want to tell everyone about it, but please do not turn this forum into another Atv Nation. I hope I haven't offended you or anyone else on here and you don't have to listen to a word i write, but I just want to make my opinion known. Thank You.

Well like I say if we all agreed on every thing, it would be BOREING world, you maybe right about that. Since I'm not into raceing can't say any thing about that. As far as the post's on HEELCLICKER, since you know about it, it shouldn't be talked about by any one else? There are many new ppl that have gotten the word about how great they are, and they have questions, they weren't there when we talked about it earlier. All the guy's that just ordered them were very excited about them and felt that they wanted to tell everyone just how happy they were. It's kind of like me being here in COLORADO, ok now everyone else stay out we have enough ppl.
These forums are visited by new ppl every day with the same questions that were asked last week, do we just ignore them since we already know the answer? Because you aren't interested do we treat everyone else like a MUSHROOM keep them in the dark? How did you find out about the stuff that you have on your machine, someone told you I bet. Why would you not want someone to know about something that might make thier quad exacly what they have been looking for. If ya don't talk about it how are they going to know? I take no offense to your post, we all have our own opinons, we just agree to dissagree. I get on average 2-3 e-mails a day asking about the HEELCLICKER, should I tell them I am tired of talking about them? I have answered the same questions a gillion times and will that many more times before it's all over. I like helping ppl with a quality product that will improve thier machine, I know from personal experience, mine and the guy's that I ride with. I had to buy a new clutch cover for POOPSIES 00 500 but the expense was worth it to me.
