HPD Fire Breathing Predator

I did just go read his post I was really impressed with a business owner cussing and swearing through the whole thing. I really respect him now. I also like how he rattled names off of engineers anyone can get from a website as yes that he met while workong on Rath's bike. The Question remains Polaris hired Rath to ride, why wouldn't he be riding with Gary's motors. I quess it would make more sense for Polaris to contract Gary but put TC motors in Raths bike.

Like you said this is nothing but a pissing match, I talk to Rath, a great guy and very helpful. nothing constructive is going to happen out of this thread, no need to continue. Believe what you want, i know the truth, I also know the story why the 580 engine in Rath's bike vibrated, but you felled to tell that. You left out the part of them leaving washers in the airbox and getting into the piston. Not gary's fault, but whoever installed the engine. just wanted to state all the facts since you brought it up. I will will run the 580 superbike engine in mine you run what ever you feel is the best. hope to see you out, then we will settle this discussion where all discussion's should be setteled, on the track.

SP700, hope the 580 works great for you. Gary does great work. However, according to my sources (no names dropped) JGL does have correct info. As to the switch of engine builders which Rath is using, I wouldn't let that sway my engine mod-shop choice. Superbike Shop has been very quick to come out with some very nice gear, we all owe thanks to Gary for that. He's one of the few shops to take faith in this machine, and it's potential. Ride hard during the day, and think hard at night. Keep those gears turning, that's how we all benefit.

Modquad, I never disputed the fact that Gary built a engine for Rath that problems occured. But just so this forum knows the truth, here's the deal. For the St. Louis race Gary built a 580 for Rath. Rath's people installed the engine in the bike. During warm ups this thing was flying, then developed a vibration. After tear down it was found that some washer's had been left in the airbox on the filter. in which one made it to the piston. There was no loc-washers used on the engine so, who left them there??? Now what ever story anyone else wants to use is there opinion. Gary posted the engineers names that he reports too for anyone to see. I Personally watched as my bike was Dyno'ed at the Superbike shop. So, please help me understand what JGL and other source's have been correct about. I never said Gary was still building engine's for Rath. But he did build some for Polaris. (1) gary does have a dyno (2) Gary does have a contract with Polaris (3) Gary did build a motor for Polaris. (4) Dirt wheels are doing articles on the Superbike shop Polaris. Did I miss anything???

I believe everyone has there own opinion on products, but don't slam another mans product if you know nothing about it. Hpd does make some great stuff and so do some of the other companies out there. All I know Superbike was great to deal with and will help you out anyway they can with any of their products.

Good point Rocket. I never meant to rip on Superbikes products, my only concern was with the claims of developing the motor. As I said before, he is truthful in saying that Polaris had him mod a motor to see how far it could go. Polaris had maintained that they still wanted it reliable. If I didn't have soooo many local choices, I'd probably be going with Superbike for mods. Sometimes details can be lost in the interpretation, also typing isn't the same as talking face to face. Support the shops willing to take the chance on giving us quality products at a fair price. Someone does that, I'll promote them all day long. Heck, I just finished helping sell my second TLD Predator.....did that just standing at the parts counter.
Ride hard, have fun. Time for the Predator to go hunting....bunnies beware! kill da wabbit.

When was Gary in Dirt Wheels?
My favorite post on esuprbikeshops board is where Gary said to run your K&N without oil for "free horsepower".
Im not sure I would trust him to work on my stuff with a hair brain idea like that.

fmfshee, That's your opinion, If you could read you would read all of the post, that was for drag racing in conditions that was not sandy or dusty. He has several articles on the KTM motorcycles, and dirt wheels is currantly working on a article with the Predator. If you think you are smarter, put your Predator up against a superbike shop Predator, we will see who can make more power. Put up or shut up.
