I found the parts manuel on the Polaris Website but no Service Manuel. Does anyone know where I can get an actual Service Manual? Cost?

Neither Clymer nor Haynes are not up to date on their model specific manuals. The only option is a Polaris factory service manual, which encompases all ATV's produced for that specific year. Cost is $60-65, depending on dealer. It's about a 425 page manual with every spec you could need. It's the same one most dealer mechanics use.

SneekyPete,

Things have changed of late with Polaris ATV Service manuals. Polaris is now producing reasonably priced manuals that are excellent.

I just picked up the Sportsman service manual. It covers the Sportsman 500 from 96 to 2000 and the Sportsman 335 from 99 to 2000.

The manual is excellent. It is Polaris part number 9915686. It was $47 Canadian, about $30 US.

There are similar manuals for all models.

Deej,

I was really glad to see your post to the manual for the SP. At two dealerships so far I have been told that such a manual does not exist. I bought the one that covers all Polaris, but I consider it all most worthless. Cost me sixty bucks and it's not worth six bucks.

Thanks
Arlan

The On-Line parts manual lists an assembly manual, but no service manual.
The assembly manual for a 400 Scrambler 2X4 is number 9915504.
Is the assembly manual the same as the service manual?

CaptNemo,

The service manual may not be listed. I gather from my dealer that these manuals are quite new.

I am very impressed with this service manual. It is well illustrated. It explains things well and walks you through debug procedures.

SneekyPete, thanks for the kudos. I have found lots of useful info here so I am glad to contribute when I can.
