That is good to hear that you got your problem solved. Yes the valve adjustment is something you can do if you are mechanically inclined. No, it is not in the manual, actually nothing much at all is in the manual, but.... You can buy a Hayne's or the factory repair manual and they will walk you step-by-step through the process. I would recommend a factory repair manual over the Hayne's, but if money is tight, go with it. The factory manual has loads more info. and is much more thorough than the Hayne's, but if you don't wrench yourself ALOT, then the Hayne's will work ok.

Where can I get the factory repair manual? Please don't tell me I can't get it online! I hate driving to my dealer!

I think you may be able to get it from Parker Yamaha.com. I think they have them anyway. If not, let me know and I will find out for you.

Thanks...I found it at PurePolaris.com. I ordered the parts manual there, and found a "like new" service manual at ebay.com.
