trailboss wheelie?
My dad has decided to be a kid at 55. He was asking me to try and figure a way to make his 01 trailboss do a wheelie with his 220 pounds of lead on the seat. Trouble is he wants to do it with no engine mods and is wanting to do it with just a spring change (possibly weights).
He wants to also do it without effecting the trail ride of his quad, and dependabilty. I told him
sure I can do it, but when you wake up it will ride the same as it did before you took your nap. What do you clutch experts think about this, can it be done.
Thanks....

Hmm, You can do a wheelie on most any stock quad. you just have to have experience and Know the Quad. i can do wheelies on my 97 Sportsman that is 100% STOCK. so that tells ya, if it is possible on that quad, its possible on any quad. and with the right Clutch kit, it can give the Trailboss more Bottom end hit, and that will help the wheelie Process.

The white spring will help the TB do wheelies. It will still take a certain technique to accomplish it though. You give it some gas while holding the brake. As you feel the atv kinda rise up, you let off the brake, plop your rear end down on the back of the seat, while giving it full throttle. This will usually bring the Boss up. Granted, you probably won't ride a wheelie, but at least you can get it up now and then (a term your dad will understand). You may be able to get the TB to wheelie without the spring, I never tried 'till I put one in my '01. The 330 I have now will do it without the spring.

Your dad's 220 pounds of lead are actually an advantage here. That is my weight. I can ride wheelies on my wife's Trail Boss (100% stock). You just have to be familiar with the clutch engagement. Once you know when it engages, you know when to pull. I sit toward the front at a dead stop. Then I hit the throttle wide open, wait a second or so (you will get a feel for the timimg), slide my lead *** back and pull. The nose is in the air and away I go.

I had a 2000 325 TBoss, RCR Green spring, RCR air box mod, Jetted+ K&N filter. Aaen Exhaust, and a DG bumper for a Scrammy 4X4. I could get it to pop and ride a wheelie fairly easily(well you did not have to bust you B@lls to try and get it up). Just give it gas and pull up and lean back. I had to fix/straighten the rear grab bar a couple times due to it digging into the ground.
When riding on trails if I kind of held the brake< not enuff to stop it just slow it down, while moving slow full throtle and it would carry the front wheels off the ground for quite a little way.
