Sportsman 600 or 700????

I agree about no room for a 600 model from Polaris. Who's the marketing wizard that said we should offer a 500, 600 and 700? It's like they are competing against themselves. But two good friends of mine run the local Pol dealership and said they don't have any 600's coming back. Different story w/ the 700, they have a rough time w/ them and can hardly get them to start, muchless idle and they go through plugs like crazy. Go w/ the 600 or better yet the 500.

atvguyinmaine, just to answer your question, I am in the Gulf of Mexico on a jackup rig. The current location I am at is only about 5 miles from the beach so I can see land which sometimes makes it worse than being in the middle of the Gulf. Seeing land makes me want to go home!!!

lightningsvt01, I haven't done any fishing over here yet. I'm on the West end of Louisiana near Cameron in only about 35 feet of murky water. I have been on several locations near the Grand Isle and Fourchon area where the water depth is 100-200 feet near shore and there were plenty of Kings, and snapper, etc to be caught. No one has been doing much fishing from the rig lately, but we do on occasion catch Redfish, specks, and catfish. It all depends where we're at with what we catch.

I almost think the 700 was rushed into production to win the size war at the time, when all along the 600 was what they were actually building... If I had to do it all over again I would go with a 500ho. Damn near the performance of the 700. My 700 sucks gas, but I don't really mind that. I have had most of the typical 700 problems. Most recently I found my ball joints are wiped out. Yet another trip to the dealer, $41 and I get to put them in myself. Dealer couldn't believe they were gone already on an 02. Anybody else changed their balljoints yet??
