thats amazing. I raced my beat up 700 against our new 500ho, and I just barely beat it. The 500 had brand new Rawhides and a good weight advantage, I weigh about 80 lbs more, plus the winch and mount is I dont know how much. My tires were about 3/4 tread left, and I've got around 800 hard miles. The 500 started to leave me at the line because even with less tire I was digging way more (this was in snow). Once I got some momentum up I pulled about a half a length ahead for the rest of the time, but it was darned close the whole way, about 300 yards before we ran out of room. So I thought if my 500 won't quite beat my 700, that it wouldn't beat a 600 either. I guess I thought wrong. But thats why I keep saying that the 700 and the 500ho are so close I dont see where the 600 fits in.

I only raced the 600 for 100 yards ,it probably would have overtaken me after that, but I bet not by much.Anybody going to hatfield mccoy this month, please give info ,want to go down end of april, never been there.also anybody put either a dalton or heelclickeer kit on let me know if they REALLY make adifference I put an erlandson kit on my 2000 sportsman 500 and it did nothing worth the price.

Sportfish, I don't have any firsthand experience, but I have read great things about the Heelclicker. I went to their site and read all about it. It is definitely the one I'm going to get when I get some money freed up. I'd send you the link but I always mess it up. You can just do a search for heelclicker and it'll turn up. I believe they do only Polaris.

northstar2 Yeah I was on the heelclicker sight also, the polaris snowcross team uses them ,but you have to know which set of weight bolts to screw in the backside of the doglegs.I'm sure it probably comes with a basic set to startyou with , then you could play around till you found whats right.that also could be alot of work pulling the clutch on and off.I'll tell you another bummer my $ 159.00 brushguard of my 03 700 wouldn't fit my new 04 500H.O. because ,as you know they changed the front plastic.Luckily my warn 2.5 and the 700 mount plate were still the same.Going to try the 500 out on it's maiden voyage ride monday, cause I work weekends, but it pays the bills

I READ ALOT OF BAD THINGS ABOUT THE 700 IN A NUMBER OF MESSAGES ON THIS SITE. I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF 700'S OUT THERE WITH NO PROBLEMS. I ONLY HAVE 300 MILES ON MINE BUT THEY ARE ALL DEEP SNOW AND PLOWING MILES. I HAVE YET TO HAVE THE SLIGHTEST PROBLEM. FRIENDS OF MINE ALSO HAVE 700'S AND THE ONLY PROBLEMS THEY ENCOUNTERED WERE ONES THE CREATED ON THEIR OWN. AS FAR AS BETWEEN THE 600 AND 700 I WOULD SAY THE BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK IS THE 600. BUT IF YOU WANT THE BIGGEST AND BADDEST GO WITH THE 700. ALSO, ANYBODY THAT THINKS THESE POLARIS' VIBRATE TAKE A RIDE ON A GRIZZLE OR PRAIRIE, YOU'LL BE DYING TO GET BACK ON THAT SPORTSMAN.

HEADING UP STATE NEW YORK NEXT WEEK FOR FIRST TIME SINCE I GOT THE SPORTSMAN.

CAN'T WAIT!

Like I said before ,I think my 03 700 was just a problem one with possibly a bad carb .I really like the dealership i deal with ,but they were either unable or didn't want to fix it .But a $ 7000 machine shouldn't be backfiring after warmup as you ride around. Any how very glad yours works well,asI am very happy with the 2004 500 H.O. I traded it for ,don't want to make people mad or bad mouth POLARIS,every manufacturer sometimes has a couple bad ones.Where Is Bangor PA. I live in the Harrisburg area ,if you ever get a trip together for Hatfied -Mccoy let me know ,never been there ,would like too.
