Default 1996 Polaris Magnum 425 4x4

I have a friend that is in need of some shocks for the front of this quad. The dealer says that they come stock as a "Strut Assembly". I have measurements and pics that I could email someone. Does anyone know if there are better shocks he could buy for less than $125 each?

Thanks all,

JP

Hot Seat sells an aftermarket set for around $120 and they work great.I put them on my 96 400 Sportsman.

www.partsland.com you should have no problem ordering stock front shocks for any year of polaris quad, they are basicly all the same except scrambler

Works makes a very high quality strut for $250 a pair in Dennis Kirk.

Yes, the shock is called a strut assembly. I have tried the aftermarket gas shocks and don't like them, they are too hard for most general riding. The OEM strut is much more comfortable to ride on.
If your dealer is letting you have them for 125 each that is a good price

This might be a stupid question but when do I know when to change them on my magnum 425?

Your ride will deterioriate and the struts won't have quite the "spring" that they used to have(no pun intended )
