Default Question For Scrambler/Trail Blazer 400 Owners

Something to check That I have found on way to many polaris' is the nut behind the stater coming loose. This will alow the gear to slap back and forth on the keyway. Making a knocking noise. Just somthing to check.

They all rattle, make sure your not lean, and don't worry about. It is normal on the 400's.

Here is another question: How do you guys do a plug check on your automatics? On my Raptor I would just do a high RPM run in 3rd. gear then pull the clutch and hit the kill switch, coast to a stop and check it. I know that the clutching on it is so aggressive that it is dissengaged for the most part when you let off the throttle.

What do you guys do?

Just reach over and hit the kill switch while you are at the throttle range you want to check, after about a 1/4 mile of course.

Well, I think Greg's suspicion was right. Something was wrong with my quad. I took it to the dunes this weekend and it died on me. I barely made it through the gate. It lost all compression. We changed the spark plug, sprayed starter fluid in it and nothing helped. The weather was around 50 and I don't think the oil was getting pumped because it had not went down at all and I have ran 3 tanks of gas through it before this happened. No resistance at all on the pull cord.
