sprockets
#4
Trying to get a reply is like pulling teeth, no pun intended. I have a post about wheel offset that no one can seem to answer also. The only advise I can give on this matter is to call a polaris dealer. You can change # teeth, I dont know if you have to go up or down in order to gain top end.

The 13 tooth should fit, but you'll need snap ring pliers to get the snap ring that holds it on off. Also you might have to lengthen the chain to accomodate the larger sprocket. You, of course, could go to a smaller back sprocket too. They make the back sprockets in 42, 38, 36, 34 and 30 tooth sizes (30 tooth is from the axle to axle sprockets on a 6x6, it should work fine)

Fullthrottle I personally try to get to posts I know about, especially if I see no one has replied. If someone doesn't answer, it could be that nobody on here has tried what you're asking about....don't know. Quadrunner160, along with what Mike suggested, I thought the Hot Seat brochure had a gear compatability chart, but after looking, it doesn't. You could call them, or Hotseatperformance.com, also Sprocket Specialties is another great source. Lot's of helpful people, kinda a busy time of the year, we'll try to help. Going up one on the front will raise your top-end alot. Going up one in front is about the same as going down 2-3 in the back. The front would be cheapest, but you may not like the bottom end performance. You may have enough chain adjustment not sure about that? Yes the c/s outer sprocket on any 95-98 Magnum 4x4 should fit. (according to Rocky Mountain ATV book anyway) It also says that a 95 scrambler 400 with the 11-38 set-up has 84 links instead of your 86, so you may have to cut chain after all. RM ATV also sells an 11 tooth sprocket for the 95-98 Magnum's, so it must be a popular change?? They also have 34,(38factory),40 and 42 size rear sprockets for your machine. Hope this helps.

thanks thats just what i wanted to know. i wanted to replace the frount because my chain is pretty loose right now and instead of buying a new one i culd just make the sprocket bigger. I didn't want to do the back because id rather not take some links out.
