I think it is possible to install an automotive relay, wire the coil to the backup circuit of the quad, find a set of normally open contacts and supply it with 12 VDC then take the output contact to your backup light.

Here's how I did mine: Used a 3 position switch(2 on positions and 1 off) and a Automotive relay. Got 12v from accessory outlet to use as the source to power the light. Tapped into the reverse light circut to energize the relay when in reverse. Hook the 12v to 1 side of the switch and the reverse lead to the other side(usually the outer 2 terminals on switch). Hook the center switch terminal to the coil of the relay. Hook a ground wire to the ground terminal of relay. Hook up the 12v power lead to the sorce terminal of the relay. Hook up the output of the relay to light. When switch is in the center position the light is off all the time. When switch is in 1 of the "on" positions the light only comes on in reverse and when in the other "on" position the light is on all the time no matter what gear it's in. The key has to be on also for lights to work.

Get two lights that are at least 55 watts each. Attach them to the underside of your front/rear rack however you wish. Run a ground wire to each light from some point.(I attached mine to an A-arm-where it connects to the frame)Then, run a hot wire directly from the battery to a toggle switch and then to the lights. Flip the toggle when you need light. It works for me.

I bought a small 12volt clear auto light from the local auto parts store for $4.99 and mounted it to a L bracket on the back, under the rear rack. Ran a ground wire to a frame bolt. Spliced into the purple wire under the seat going to the reverse light on the switch pod. It comes on every time I put it in reverse. The light bulb is a 1156, same as a auto back up light. Works fine. I really like the way Rammer did his. Might put a switch on mine someday.

I put two 55 watt halogen light on the back on my 325 mag and have no problem. I wired it up just like Rammer did only I added a 15 amp circit breaker. Really nice for hooking to trailers or wagons in buildings or in the dark.
