Default installed pipe......somethings wrong.

me and my dad installed the stage one kit on my trailblazer, and we did everything the directions said, but when we start it and give it gas it dies. we think that its because rick gave us 2 jets, a 140 and a 150. we put the 150 on but we think that is giving it too much fuel and flooding it. we are going to put the 140 on it tonight and see if that works. do you guys know what it might be?

just a little, like just enough that would make you start moving or so.

That has nothing to do with your main jet. Put the biggest main jet he sent you in until you get running, very important. Things to look for would be, idle adjustment too high, incorrect re-assembly of the carb or intake, air screw out of adjustment, throttle cable out of adjustment, choke out of adjustment, dirt in carb, carb top loose, spark plug fouled or semi-fouled. If unsure how to check something, ask.

Dont forget about the needle clip adjustment. This is what controlls the fuel let in when it is at idle up to about 1/2 throttle position. If the clip is to low it will flood but if it is to high it will run to lean. Just be patient. It will be an awsome ride when everything is tuned right. take your time and dont forget to check your plug to make sure everything is right when you are done.

I didn't really figure those were enough mods to bother the needle/clip??? I may be wrong, but that is why I didn't include it.

I still think you done something wrong in assembly or something and got it right when you changed the jet. The circuits work as follows. Idle-1/4 throttle=pilot jet & air screw 1/4-1/2 throttle=jet needle and clip position 1/2-3/4 throttle=needle jet 3/4-full throttle=main jet. Now there is some overlapping that takes place, but the main jet will never control under half throttle. I am glad you got it fixed though, but I can tell you It wasn't a main jet problem.

It really sounded like a pinched vent line to me. But I always check the simplest first.
