winch anchor

Default winch anchor

what is the best way to stop a quad from moving while using it as an anchor for a winch or when it is pulling another quad and dont tell me lock the brake b/c the quad still slides getting it stuck good also works but that causes other problems[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

There are some companies that make "stop blocks" that you can use to wedge in front of the front tires. They are usually lightweight aluminum triangles with teeth on 1 edge to dig into the dirt. Should prevent the slide. Otherwise if you are anywhere near another tree, carry a chunk of rope and tie your rear to the tree! I'm sure your local welding shop can furnish somthing for you. Tell them about the front tire blocks and they can be creative. Tell them to make them small enought that they will also fit in your trunk, or design a way to fasten them to the rack so you always have access to them.
