What to include in off road tool kit? - No jokes please!
I'm packing too many tools on my quad on trips into the woods. I put 120 miles on my 03 Trail Boss this weekend and the Boy Scout in me says bring it all. The tool box is ~25 Lb.'s with no single heavy item. What do I really need for tools? Thank you for the suggestions.

Spare spark plug & appropriate wrench (more needed on 2 cycles than 4)
Leatherman type tool
Tire plugs & inflator (while Slime is great stuff, it should already be in the tires if you want it, the trailside is not the place to be adding it).
Medium sized vise-grips, preferrably with wire cutters (to cut the wire you get wrapped around the axle)
Folding saw (I once got a branch wedged through the front A-arm, with the end poking against the radiator. Couldn't go forward, and if I backed up it would have pierced the radiator. Sawing the branch was the only option)
Medium sized crescen wrench, or the new-style 'bolt head grabber' style Channel-locks

I would think it depends on the mach you ride, and how long the trips are. Or if you are spending the night with your mach and what you have carried in. I carry in about 100 lbs. worth of gear on KLF 400 yr 95, but I ride it if I'm doing a all day or night ride. Sometimes I'll start my ride at night, and be back at camp in the morning. You see a whole new world that way. But for tools I will carry new plugs, fix-aflat, manual air pump, plugs to fix a flat, tape, wire, alot of spare fuses, rope, tow strap, water drinking or just in case it over heats, small tool bag that came with the mach. And use it to do your maintence, that way you know if you have the tools you need. And on the other side of things to take to live on. The list will only get bigger, and yes I carry it all. 1st aid kit, cell phone, snake bite kit, maps, ect ect ect ect. Remember what you carry in can save a life, and when you put 120 miles in a weekend that's a hell of a lot of time things can go wrong.
Hope this helps.
