Default Putting Scrambler back in order but having trouble...

Just getting the Scrambler back together but with a couple problems once again: If anyone has any insight on the cause and cure let me know!

1- The electronic throttle control in case of a stuck throttle seems to be activating for no reason... any ideas why? Could there be a wire disconnected somewhere...

2- I got rid of the trail ported jug last year in exchange for a "new" 2002 top end (from a fellow forum member) but the compression is at 145... that seems rather high to me. What is stock compression? What could cause this?

Thanks,

Brian

The ETC could have a cut, pinched or loose connection. It is more than likely that it is out of adjustment. I am not sure what stock compression is, but minimum is 115. Carbon deposits on the head would cause a high compression or a carboned up cylinder. You can run cleaner through the engine to rid yourself of the carbon build-up if that is the case. There are other reasons, but I can't think of them right now.

OK another thing that can cause high compression would be either incorrectly machined head surface or installation of the wrong head gasket during assembly.
