Heapsters New Predator Jetting - Awesome!
#11
G'day Heap.
We tried your setup this morning, Carb mounted filter, but 172.5 main, different clip positions.
Sadly it didn't work for us, popping it's head off around 6000-8500 rpm.
Vortex cdi must be close I'll check with them shortly and report back.
Thanks for the info, we'll just keep trying.
Glad your's is flying.
Geoff.

Hi Dave, Mod, Aussiequad,
Mod, I tried two different settings on the D/J needle,,,, they recommended the 2nd down from the top (it has 6 slots!), and it ran great. I also tried the 3rd down as well, but it ran a bit more sluggish (for the first time I actually found a place that was just a tad too rich!). So I went back to the 2nd down and it just rips there. Super low and mid pull...it literally leaps out of one berm transition to another, and pulls very hard all the way to "pop heaven!!!" With the Haulers on the Glamis sand, it just pulls like crazy...far better than any other combo I tried before. I think the DJ kits are about $42.00 at RMATV on the web...
Geoff, it really does sound like your problem is a BAD CDI box...you've tried too many other jetting combos and still had the problem...sort of like what Rich from Arizona had to deal with...I think you'll fix it with the Vortex...Yours really should be a warranty issue if it is popping at 6000 and up!!!!
and Dave...just keep on riding and enjoying!!!! I really glad some of you out there don't have this CDI issue. Oh and Dave, you are planning to invite SP700 to come up and ride with you soon....right!!!
Take care all,
JJ
