air force kit a joke

14 mins I've given you the benefit before, but you totally missed the point. The airforce kit bike with a w/B was tested against a stock airbox/WB equipped machine. Duh, of course there's gonna be HP gains.
Firehawk, I may make Little Sahara later this year, but due to a couple new test sessions/articles things got a little too busy.
Pudl, I can't wait!!
Hey ProX, there's a couple in your state this year too, c'mon out!

Isn't that why you'd buy the kit .... To add HP/ Torque?
Why do you need to take pot shots at Gary's customers just because we believe in a guy that has spent countless hours helping people out? Gary spent over an hour with me on the phone while I was standing at Glamis on my cell phone trying to get my jetting at least semi close enough to run the hill. That was before I had purchased anything from him. He definitely saved my weekend that trip.
After I purchased the airfirce kit I was installing it 3 days before another Glamis trip, I pushed to hard on the plastic piece that retains the needle jet and broke the tabs inside the slide assy. Gary had the slide in stock and sent it to me overnight, Didn't charge me any freight and charged me less than anyone else in Ca. wanted to charge me for the same part...only thing was every and I mean every Polaris shop in Socal said it would be at least 2-3 weeks if they could get it that soon. Another trip saved... So you see young jedi it is not because Gary make's claims of Polaris ties that keeps the Superbike faithfull coming back..... But a tenant of Gary's business practices that says that every one of his customers is important. He understands when somebody says " I just gotta have that part cause I want to go riding this weekend" He knows because he rides too! And he has always, Always came through for me and alot of other riders around the country. Maybe that doesn't mean much to you..... but it does to me.

Tres, what I was looking for was drop in the K&N filter WITH the W/B, and dyno that against the airforce mod. It's NOT a shot at Gary, get over that. Use the dyno runs to show a comparison of mods, sure against stock is good too, but show me why that $100 is worth it.

The little club sounds like some high school pep fest.
I believe that Gary dyno'd the bike with the same air filter before and after installing the AF kit.
Makes sense to me. I am not concerned with how much the K&N airfilter add's I can get that off the K&N site. I was interested in the gains afforded by the AF kit. 8HP 8lbs of Torque. Thats worth 100.00 to me.

And from this corner.......I like the look of the kit. From what I've been hearing that nut issue scares me, but someone, I think MODQUAD mentioned rivits (with some silicone) would help out. From what I understand, and if I'm wrong, tell me, but the kit comes with the mount, an outerwear type of thing, hardware and 3 jets. Is this correct? Also, I'm assuming that the hole you have to cut goes from above the aircleaner to below the aircleaner. This tells me that anything that might get through the outerwear above the aircleaner could go right down the pipe to the carb, like the nut did. Correct?

That is correct if dirt gets though the prefilter above your filter it goes right down to the motor along with the bolts.Rivets might be a good idea so why doesnt gray make it that way.And when I call grays shop about the dirt getting past my filter they said we have heard that do not use are system in dusty areas.Look gary my be a nice guy and most likely knows his stuff but my dealings with him were not the greatest. And if gary is the only one at the shop that knows what he is doing then nobody else should be giving advice at his shop.Oh and my kit only had 1 jet unlabled in the kit becouse gray said that it was all I need at glamis.

You believe he used the stock filter, but you don't KNOW, do you. Are you sure it wasn't the same dry K&N that he's been suggesting people run? I would put money that the K&N wasn't in there for the lower run, but it was for the airforce run. The W/B silencer requires more air to work properly...once again, DUH!
As far as the pepfest comment, go read some posts. It's comical. Have a nut (there's a joke there), go ride, and hope things work out.

Well MODQUAD, at least you were man enough to direct your comments toward me instead of the Superbike shop, you are headed in the right direction. But you keep assuming things, and you know what that does. What makes you think I can't work on my bike, I have only built several national record holding Buick Grand National engines, a couple of AMRA Mustang record holding engines, a couple of spreads in Muscle Mustang & Fast Fords magazine. It's not that I cant work on it, I chose to let someone more skilled do it. there's a difference. See your still in the past, he did max the reliable horsepower out on this motor, (remember Polaris had him do that) then we made some changes and added nitrous. And as far as you out running me, the best place to determine that is the track, come down to Texas at the end of June, everybody will be there. I am sure DSMIKE will be there, he don't have nitrous, but I am sure he will be willing to change your mind about smoking DS's. Just alway's remember, there is somebody faster, somewhere, if you play this game enough, you will find him.

Have you read Jcal's post about why the nut came off? Rivets can and will loosen up especially if they are not done properly, the bolts that come with the airforce kit have neopreme locking nuts, tighten these up mar the threads below the nut so there is no possibility of them coming off, And then go riding.....
Enjoy that extra 8 HP tug and roost the naysayers
Have a great day
