Pro X, there is another plate that is not pictured, that mounts to the top of the airbox lid. That's where the nut come from.

the nut that came off was my fault because i used kerosene to clean the filter, not taking the filter off totally, the solvent loosened up the threads on the nut and down the hatch. it is what it is .

So there is not only the plate on the back of the airbox, but one on the lid also. Is that to get the airflow that he is looking for? I just looked at the pic of the kit, and saw the rear one and assumed that was what came in the kit. Also, if a person wanted to get more jets, what type should be looked at? I was looking through Denis Kirk at all the different style Mikuni Jets, and it's got me all confused now! I don't know what one to be looking at, states stuff like 'Large Hex-type' and '102/221 Main Jet' and stuff like that. Thanks for the help!

Pro X, predator uses the small round mikuni jets. Any local shop will have them.

The bolts that come with garys kit are not long enough to get to the end of the lock nut .they need to be a 1/8 to 1/4 longer.

Let me get this straight, sp thinks he's in the same boat as John Force? Baahahhhaa.

This is a rule, straight from the aviation world, you should always have at least two threads protruding through the end of a nut.

ProX, someone on Predatorowners.com had the pic of the upper plate, but I think it's gone. Basically a "D" shaped inlet above the airfilter on the rear flat of the upper cover. There is also a part # index...an updated sticker inside the Predator service manual. PM me, or e-mail me for the new number if you need it.

I don't mean to keep asking questions about the Airforce Kit, but I was thinking about getting it. Now I'm not so sure, and my decission is only based on what I"m hearing. So you are telling me that there is another mod done to the top of my airbox, where as the only thing keeping dirt, crud and water out of my carb is an outerware type filter on the mount that is sent? That doesn't sound to thrilling to me. Now the one that I saw on the back of the box, located under the airfilter makes sense to me.

Personally, now this is just the "idiot" with his own opinion, I'd run the slip-on K&N w/ outerwear before I'd risk the dirt. Just my opinion. Riv-nuts anyone?

Oh, almost forgot....Save Big Money at Menard's. Suppose I'll get railed for that being a Minnesota company too. Can't an "Idiot" catch a break?
