Default Scrambler dies suddenly

The last couple of times I've run my Scrambler it will sparatically die. It will start right up again after just a few SECONDS, not minutes. I did just do some mods, but I noticed this on the last ride before the mods.

It seems to be after jumps or on really steep inclines and drops. I recently replaced the handle bars with a inexpensive low bend aluminum set. I first thought the floats were stocking or to low, but now I'm thinking it might have something to do with throttle cable slack kill switch(?). I understand that those wire comining into the throttle will kill the engine if there is to much slack in the cable.

I have been rough on the machines front end, I'm use to a pure sport quad and ride pretty hard for the Polaris steering system. I've bent 3 stock steering post and 2 sets of bars, all from landing hard on jumps, no roll overs. So, I wonder if the flex in the steering system is causing slack in the cable.

Can this be my problem and how do I fix it?

The first thing I would do is check to make sure you don't have an intake leak somewhere. Then I would check your compression. The handlebar should have no effect on the throttle cable, on my Scrambler the cable runs away from the steering stem. If you think the ETC is suspect, then simply unplug it and see if it clears up, If it does then you need to adjust the cable. You could also be having a vapor lock problem, make sure all vent hoses are clear and not kinked. Check carb hoses, gas tank vent hose, and gas tank vent right inside the gas tank lid. Since you replaced the handlebars, make sure the hose leading from the gas tank is not pinched. Your compression should be at least 115 psi.

The carb can work loose out of the rubber carb adapter, or you rubber carb adapter can be split on the bottom side.

Or your CDI could have died. If it did, replace both the CDI and Ignition coil together.
