Hey guys,
Thanks for the numbers! I actually had a chance to ride a Predator last weekend and it was a wierd expierience to say the least (my first time on a 4stroke) and I was just curious to its HP output..The wierd thing is, it "felt" slower than my LT. I know it would wipe the floor with my machine, but it just didn't "feel" as fast...Must be that torque thing..It moves you efficiently, but not with fanfare!
By the way, I got ahold of some dyno charts for the DR-Z 400 Dirtbike(the LT-Z Engine) and I am unaware to the specific differences between the bike and the quad (I am guessing lower compression and different cam) but the bike straight from the showroom will put out about 39 HP and with a good pipe will put out 42..Now I know the Quad isn't capable of that with just a pipe, but if the bike can make it so easily, I'm sure the quad engine could too! Thanks again for the numbers! Frank.

I have my Raptor now and it has the normal goodies, Pipe, Jetted, Proflow, Cam Piston. It feels pretty fast now, but I take 1 ride on my old Quadracer 500 (Now owned by my brother) and that makes the Raptor feel slow. They are closer in actual speed than how they feel. 2 Strokes just feel faster period! Maybe it is the loose front end parts or the jaw numbing rattling, maybe it's that lack of quality braking, Maybe it's just the fear that it could blow up at any minute...lol...But damned if don't feel just wayyyy faster!

I too, think that a two stroke feels faster than a four stroke. I think the reason is the fact that when a two stroke gets in the power band, it kind of just changes speed, like warp speed on star wars. A four stoke on the other hand, doesn't change into warp speed, it just continually builds speed. Make sense?
