Polaris/Victory Oil Filter Alternatives

Well, owning two Polari' myself.. Oil Changes are starting to get expensive... $9.75 per filter, and $7.50 per quart... Thats $50.00 just to change the freakin oil... I thought about going to the $9.95 Ten Minute Quickie Lube and trying them out...
I dug thru the old posts about other brand oil filters and ended up with a Deutsch D371.
It was two for $5.00 and its dished inward so that it will fit like a Polaris/Victory filter. I'm also going to get away from the Polaris oil, its nice, but I can get KawaChem (Kawasaki) oil by the gallon for $14.00. Thats what I usually run, although im going to run regular Penzoil 10-40 in the Polari' since there is no wet clutch to damage..
Oh, if you go to Polaris for a filter and they are out, ask them to check stock on a Victory Chrome Plated oil filter, they are the same filter at the same price. But still, $ 9.75!!..

No, The girlfriend wont let me buy a street bike... She says I dont have enough sense for the mud, let alone PAVEMENT.
But, the Polaris dealership I frequent also sells Victory motorcycles, and they were out of filters for the Polaris ATV's.. thats when we noticed that the Victory's were the same filter.
The Deutch.. (or however its spelled) I purchased from the local Autozone... I know it also cross-references to fit a Subaru Automobile...

Well guys i want to add one thing in to this topic if your under warrenty, Use a polaris filter, and polaris oil as it may cause problems if a warrenty issue were to happen. As my thought on Fram filters Well if 6 years in the parts businees tought me anything it was that fram filters are JUNK!!!!!!!! I would not use them, i can and will recomend napa gold filters as these are made by WIX. Cut one open and then cut open a Fram look for yourself it will scare you. Also if you can,t afford 2 bucks more on an oil change then your probably in the wrong sport. Take this info anyway you want but from personel experience and from experience of the old time parts people Buy a real filter .

This brings up an interesting point. Who does make the Polaris filter?
Jaimie, please refer to the first post. The filter in question is $9.75 which many people consider excessive, when the same filter sells for $3.32 every day at Wal-mart and $4.95 at Fleet Farm.
Also would you consider $6.00 per quart, resonable for the Victory Oil? and the 92C takes 6 quarts. So here we are looking at $46.00 for an oil change.
Oh... and that is every 2,500 miles (as recommended in the owners manual), not 5,000 or 8,000 miles.
I noticed that your home town is the same as the hometown of Polaris. Do you work for the factory?
