Default Running on reserve

Well call it a rookie mistake, but when I picked up my TB 250 from the dealership, they had my fuel tank set on reserve. So for the first 2 tanks of gas, Ive been running on reserve. I didn't notice this until I was washing it today after a muddy ride. With this being the break in period and all. How bad of a mistake is this. I'm new to this, and it makes me mad that I didn't notice it from day one. Thanks

No problem at all. The reserve pick up just sits lower in the tank. The regular pick up sits a little higher in the tank so you will have some reserve just in case you get in trouble and run out of gas prematurely. I wouldn't recommend running in reserve from now on or anything as trash and debris may settle in the bottom of the tank, but since it is new, there should be no problem whatsoever.

Don't worry its no biggie. All it does is keep you from using all of the gas until you switch it to reserve. The wors that would happen is to run out and be stuck

watzupdog,
Not to worry my man. The worst possible thing that could have happened is that you would have run out of fuel and had no reserve to rely on. Also, as a side note, when transporting the atv, like in the back of a pickup or on a trailer, turn the fuel petcock to the "off" position. If you don't, the float bowls in the carb can overfill when the gas in the tank splashes around, resulting in excess fuel getting into the engine. The end result of this happening is getting gasoline into the engine oil. Good luck with your new quad!
