Default Bad U-Joints or something else??

I was just curious about something my Xpedition 425 has always done. If I am coasting(hand off the throttle) in 3,4,5 gear and I decide to give it some gas, something in the rear end ALWAYS jerks at first then everything is normal. Our Honda's have never done that and I was just wondering if it was something that all Polaris' do or if maybe the rear u-joints were etc. were bad?

I'm used to it now, so if it is something that all Polaris 5-speeds do than that's fine. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything wrong.

I tried checking the U-Joint like you would a truck (put the vehicle in gear and try to move the U-Joint) and it seemed to be tight.

Is there a better way to check the U-Joints (on the rear driveshaft) or could there be another problem with the rear pinion gear etc.

Any ideas??

Thanks for the help

my '00 exp 425 did the exact thing and it was new back then, I think its normal, it was really annoying me though in trails because everytimr i would hit a root/bump and it bounced the quad it would jerk cause of that rear drive shaft. Yeah mine did that for 3800 miles no problems so i don't think you should have a problem either. I think its just the nature of a direct drive train, pickups do the same thing when you let off of the gas and come back on it again.

hope you don't have any problems with that P-laris

Thanks for the help. Your right, the drivetrain seems to bounce around a lot on rough trails to.

I hope I get as many miles on mine without problems as you did...
