Used ATVs are way overpriced here, as well. Get a 2 year old machine with half bald tires, and still pay within $500 of new. Either that, or you get on that is beat half to death.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

Hey SageCrusher if you take your time and look around you can find 400 Polaris s cheap.I gave $800for my 96 Sportsman 2yrs ago.But you have to put some TLC to them to get them in top shape. Most people dont care for a 2stroke like they should and when it breaks they just get rid of them. But for a clean unabused machine he did ok.

FTWFLH.. Good deal on the 96, But I have been looking around for almost 2 months and only really found overpriced machines.....last one I found was a 98 Sp 500 for $4,200.00, and the tires were shot, and spending around $200.00 for tires, it was still better to go with new..

Have to be careful, it is easy to get upside down really fast on a used machine, but there are some good deals out there, but just not much here out west to not justify buying new.

I agree with the 2 stroke purchase...still a good buy.

same prob here... used and bagged sportsman 500's are still fetchin 5500 + dollars... anything 4-stroke IRS is almost impossible to find...
here's some of the stuff i have to look at here in Canada
too much for this one

and this
and
one more
so you can see it aint easy to find decent rides around here for a reasonable price... anything 1/2 way rideable thats moderately overpriced is sold in days.
