I really would like to know this so I can decide on my new tire purchase! By the way, they are 489's; that might help

BushHog:
I don't mean to sound rude, but could the tire dealer tell you how much they weigh? The closest I can tell you is that my stock 489 titans, size 25x10x12 weight 27 lbs. each. I think I remember somebody saying that when they purchased some mud bugs in a 27x10x12 frt., and 27x12x12 rear, there was about a 40 pound increase overall. Keep in mind, the mud bugs are a 6 ply tire, while the titans are only 2 ply. From this, I would have to guess that the sizes you are inquiring about would weigh somewhere between 18-24 lbs, maybe. Just a guess though, don't quote me on it. While this may not be exactly what you wanted, hope it is enough to give you a rough idea. Good luck with your findings, and the new Titans.

let me know when you find out those are the exact tires that are on my Xplorer. I want to upgrade big time but don't want to stress my Xplorer out. My dealer told me i could turn 25 inch stocker 489's with no trouble. I am only looking for more clearance I have no trouble with the 489's other than that 23 inch is way to small. I bottom the front end all the time. What ATV do you have?

Thanks for the insight. I have a '99 Sportsman 335.I've done a good bit of research on the new tire purchase I am going to make, and how I will turn them since I am going a lot bigger.If I get the Monster Performance kit from Highlifter, I will be able to turn 25 and 26" vampires (front and back) with power to spare. Considering this, I did a little weight research and found the Mud Bugs to be lightest in a 26" and 27" tire. Therefore, if I get 26 or 27" Bugs, I should have ample power left over,since they are only 23+/- pounds each compared to the 30+/- pound Vamps. There also will be a substantial clearance and traction increase.

Just for comparisons sake, my new titan 589's 27x11x12, weighed in at 32lbs each w/o the rim. When I get 'em mounted I will weigh them again to see what the total wieght will be. The more info the better!

Hey BushHog:
Did I read that right, that the 26 or 27" Bugs only weigh around 23 lbs.? If so, that is lighter than my stock 25x10x12 Titan 489's, that are coming in at 27 lbs. each. I don't know how a larger tire, that is also 6 ply, instead of 2 ply on the titans, could possibly weigh less than the smaller tire. Please let me know if your weights are correct with the Bugs, if so, that would be great! Not only would you have a much larger and better tire, but also not see any power loss at all, possibly even a gain with lighter tires. As for your first question, the closest I could find on the Titan weights in the sizes you asked about are on a Titan 479. They look like the 589's, only the lugs are cut down the middle, so they are open, instead of full rubber lugs, if that makes sense. They were weighing in at 20 and 21 lbs. each, according to Dico, at the Titan search site. Hope that helps.

Isn't it incredible? The Maxxis tires Mud Bug weight specifications are as follows:
26x10x12=24.7 lbs.
27x10x12=23.7 lbs.
26x12x12=28.4 lbs.
27x12x12=28.6 lbs.
If this is true, what a finding!?! 27" mud tires that are lighter than 23" Titan 489 regular duty tires!The weight(s) came directly from the Mud Bug page, by the way.

I'll let you know after the weekend still waiting for my wheels to come in. Not sure if I went to big or not 27X11x12 all the way around, might need another cylinder, hehehehe!! I am a tour guide this weekend for the state ride in MN, so we will find out who's wheelers are the best, might have to detour off the "mapped out" trail.
