Its All depends, some manufacturers like Honda and Yamaha just but on any junk 2ply tire stock, while Polaris uses more aggressive 6ply tires.
My friends zero mile tires on his new 500 Foreman, look bald compared to my stock Good Year P Trackers even with 1200 miles on them.

2 arctic cats here.....i have a 2008 700h1 with 4 ply stock good years......i am a new rider, but so far i have liked them.....they candl handle the small air i catch, and they have got me through mud, over rocky cliff faces, washed out gullies, etc....
my gf just bought an arctic cat 400....it had 280 miles on it, and i assume the tires were stock....she has 6 ply carlisle badlands on it.....
neither of us have gotten stuck yet....still looking for bigger mudholes though....
at this point we are planning on riding the stocks....i could use the few hundred dollars on a different upgrade - like maybe skid plates to protect from all the boulders around here

Sport side of things the stock dunlops on the 450 was decent all around tire. If you ask me I preferred it in the soft terrain and didn't do bad on the rock hills we climb. Switched to Razrs and ITP's which do better on harder packed areas but, not great in sand at all.
